GO SABRES -- on to Ottawa! Round Two Begins!
Iris Schreier: Modular Knits : New Techniques for Today's Knitters
Will I ever have the time to deal with this? Mmmmm... maybe in 15 years or so.
Candi Jensen: Hooked on Crochet : 20 Sassy Projects
How'd this get on my knitting bookshelf? (Hey, it looked cool.) (***)
Leigh Radford: Alterknits : Imaginative Projects and Creativity Exercises
Haven't knit a thing from it.... yet. Sure looks interesting! (****)
Iris Schreier & Laurie Kimmelstiel: Exquisite Little Knits : Knitting with Luxurious Specialty Yarns
I totally adore this book! As described on Booklist, "Cashmere, mohair, angora, sequin, eyelash fringe, and faux fur: these are the most luxurious and expensive yarns, often too costly to use for a knitting project of any great size. But these 35 breathtaking items are small enough that knitters can afford to indulge in the finest materials, and easy enough for beginners to complete with ease. Thumb through the exquisite photos of each specialty yarn, complete with descriptive introductions to its unique qualities and advice on how to work with and care for it. Follow the short and simple instructions to make a long scarf with bouclé trim, a snazzy flapper-style hat from a mohair-silk blend, and the ultimate pashmina shawl. Each item is dramatic and unique." Pam Allen: Scarf Style: Innovative to Traditional, 31 Inspirational Styles to Knit and Crochet
I just received this and it is GORGEOUS! So beautifully presented, discussed, and photographed... I believe I have finally found a really GOOD reason to purchase some luscious Touch Me! (*****)

Melanie Falick: Kids Knitting: Projects for Kids of All Ages
If I could ever talk either of my daughters into trying to knit again, THIS is the book I would use. Terrific projects, instructions, descriptions. Oh well... why should they want to knit just because I want them to? (*****)
Melanie Falick: Weekend Knitting: 50 Unique Projects and Ideas
Knitting, baking, meditating... all the most lovely things to do if you had a weekend with no obligations. Yeah right! Still a lovely book. (Check out the price on overstock.com and SAVE BUCKS!)
Beverly Galeskas: Felted Knits
What is it about felting that I love so much? Errors in knitting (if indeed there are any, tsk tsk) just melt away. And you don't have to worry so much about gauge. Bev's Fiber Trends felted patterns are terrific... fun... easy to use, but not stupidly simple. I'm working on my first pair of adult mitts for Anna. (*****)
Vicki Square: Folk Bags: 30 Knitting Patterns & Tales from Around the World
Another very inspirational voume! This one gets my heartrate up, for sure. Beautiful, exotic bags. (Not that I've made any of the patterns yet, but still...)
Judi Alweil: Ribbon Knits: 45 New Designs to Knit and Crochet
Nothing in here has really entranced me, although a friend of mine made the backpack and it does look terrific. (***)
Lynne Vogel: The Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook: Dyeing, Painting, Spinning, Designing, Knitting
This is delicious!! So many fun, funky sock patterns and great discussions of yarn and color choices. (****)
Sally Melville: The Knitting Experience: The Purl Stitch (Knitting Experience Series, Book 2)
Own it, but haven't made anything from it yet. Looks like it will be as much of a "keeper" as the first. Sally Melville is a genius as far as describing "how-to" in text and in pics. (*****)
Sally Melville: The Knit Stitch (The Knitting Experience, Book 1)
Okay, the Einstein looked just awful on me, but the Shape It Scarf is terrific and the teaching is perfecto! (*****)
Barbara Albright: Knitter's Stash: Favorite Patterns from America's Yarn Shops
Glorious and inspiring stories and photographs of LYS's throughout the U.S. (*****)
Cat Bordi: Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles: a Manual of Elegant Knitting Techniques and Patterns
If handling all those tiny double-points makes you nuts, give this awesome technique a try! (****)

This goes along with the gorgeous new book from Pam Allen.
