hello! I found your knitting journal through various links and I kept reading because A) you mentioned being jewish and B) your struggles with your daughter. I am 25 and just starting a family (if you count my fiance, cat and dog.. and my dog is really my son!). I wasn't raised very Jewish, though my mom always TELLS me I am jewish (as she is, but my father is catholic) and I am being married by a rabbi which is both wonderful and odd, simply because I didn't go to temple growing up. I felt uncomfortable with a christian ceremony after my future mother in law went postal on me about religion. My fiance is not jewish :) but I found a nice rabbi who will marry us anways! I am kinda excited to be learning more about my heritage!

I am just starting to learn to knit and my FIRST project is the ribbed baby alpaca scarf. Sounds like your using the same free pattern?

I am doing it in a coral pale green, I keep messing up I think I have started over 5 times now. When I am doing the K/P/K/P pattern sometimes I forget if i just did two purls or two knits and I mess up the row! Then i thought I had stopped doing that and instead I couldn't remember if I had just done a knit row or a knit/purl row so then i was on the wrong side. It's insane you really have to concentrate!! How can people do this while watching tv?!

Anways, I enjoy reading your blog! Gonna book mark it! (sorry i am a horrible speller and I type to fast..)

great blog as always. love it....wish mine looked as good.
